Krasnodar, 27 November – Yug Times. Work is progressing simultaneously on two sections of Krasnodar’s Western Bypass — from Sredniaya Street to the German Village residential complex, and onward to the junction with Krasnykh Partizan Street. Completion stands at 66% on the first section and 21% on the second. To enable further widening, engineers will remove the overhead pedestrian crossing at the Kudukhov Street junction.
“Expanding this section of the Western Bypass from four to six lanes required changes to traffic management. The pedestrian bridge has to be dismantled — it simply doesn’t match the width of the future road. A temporary traffic light is in place, and later it will be replaced with a permanent one,” said Andrei Belugin, head of the city’s transport department.
He added that new traffic lights will regulate both vehicle and pedestrian flows and ensure links between bus, trolleybus and tram stops.
