On September 1st, the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov grandly celebrated Knowledge Day. Ceremonial assemblies were held for both college and university students.
On this day, the first-year students were warmly welcomed by the Rector of KIU, Asiya Timiryasova, representatives of the rector's office, deans, and university professors. The creative program was organized by KIU's Department of Youth Affairs and included bright performances by our talented young artists.
The celebration began in a warm atmosphere: the university grounds filled with music, and future specialists, lined up by faculty for the first time, awaited the start of a new life chapter.
The bright prologue, "Welcome to KIYU," performed by winners of national and international competitions—the "Mixstyle" dance theater and the "Viva" vocal studio—set a high creative tone for the event. Words that truly reflect the spirit of the alma mater were heard from the stage: "Here, Inspiration is Strength, Creation is the true path to happiness!" After all, our university is today a major scientific and educational complex, a recognized leader in the education system of Tatarstan and Russia. A university that unites traditions and innovations, professionalism and creativity, science and art!
The anthems of Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Kazan Innovative University played during the ceremonies lent a particularly solemn atmosphere to the event. At the KIYU College, members of the college's patriotic club were involved in raising the flags of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan, and KIYU.
University Rector, Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan Asiya Timiryasova addressed the students with a solemn speech: "From today, you have received a new status – that of a student of the Kazan Innovative University. I congratulate you and your parents, who spent many anxious and worried weeks, on this victory," said the rector. "You have passed a serious test. You passed the Unified State Exam and became students. Ahead of you lies a bright, eventful, and very interesting student life." The rector noted that the university has taken responsibility for the successful professional future of the freshmen, as all conditions have been created for this. At the same time, half of the success depends on the students themselves—on how active they are in their studies, how hardworking they are, and how purposefully they pursue their goals.
The university freshmen also met with representatives of the university administration who will accompany them throughout their student journey. Addressing the new generation of KIYU students were: First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Igor Bikeev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yulia Kamasheva, Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development Lilia Vorontsova, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Project Activities Irina Antonova, Vice-Rector for Corporate Management Timur Kramin, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Ruslan Zagitov, Vice-Rector for Legal Affairs Nikolay Babkin, as well as Advisor to the Rector on Strategic Initiatives Oleg Agapov.
The welcome at the KIYU College was equally warm. The new generation of KIYU students was addressed by College Director Yulia Khadiullina, Vice-Rector for Continuous Education Daniya Akhmetova, as well as college administration representatives: Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Denis Palachev, Deputy Director for Educational Work Lyaisan Ismagilova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work Ilseyar Feoktistova, and Deputy Director for Civic-Patriotic Education Riyat Khabibrakhmanov.
The deans of all faculties also addressed the freshmen with words of encouragement and warm wishes for success. They congratulated the new students, briefly spoke about the specifics and advantages of their fields, and wished them not only perseverance in mastering their profession but also an active, fulfilling life within the university walls. KIYU is a university of opportunities where every student can realize themselves in science, art, business, and public activities!
It is especially pleasing that this year, KIYU, its college, and branches were ranked among the best in Russia according to the state national university rating on the "Rabota Rossii" (Work of Russia) portal, confirming the high demand for our graduates in the job market. Successful alumni shared their experiences with the students: Chairman of the Youth Parliament of the Republic of Tatarstan, Co-Chair of the Public Headquarters for Support of Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Damir Nurgaliev, and Deputy Head (Commissar) of the Tatarstan Regional Branch of the All-Russian Youth Public Organization "Russian Student Teams," Ekaterina Gilmiyarova. On behalf of the KIYU College students, freshmen were congratulated by a member of the patriotic club, mentor, head student, and activist Alisa Merzlyakova.
An unforgettable gift for all guests was the fashion show by the "Calypso" theater, which presented a collection inspired by the images of future specialists. This was a vivid symbol of how KIYU prepares personnel for the professions of tomorrow. The vocal studio "Euterpe" and the dance group "Dialog" created a creative atmosphere at the college venue.
The university ceremonies concluded with the song "New Autumn" performed by the "Viva" studio under an impressive fireworks display of confetti, after which the newly minted students departed for their first meetings with deans, advisors, and new classmates.
